I’m leaving for Mendoza on Feb 9th, and I’ll be starting my ascent of Aconcagua on Feb 11, 2013.

I’ve chosen to climb with Alpine Ascents, due to their commitment to environmentally ethical climbs and their Leave No Trace practices, their high success rates, and their high marks from National Geographic.

We summitted. This is a picture of a man who became, in a remarkably short time, a great friend of mine. Charlie Plumbridge died in a motorcycle accident 6 months after this summit picture was taken. A tough as nails guy with an amazing sense of humour. The world is poorer for his loss, and I still miss him.
