I wanted to choose a charity local to the mountain, and that would mean somewhere in or around Mendoza. There are a couple of options, but instead I’ve donated to something a little further away – The Sunrise Children’s Home, in San Nicolas www.sunriseofargentina.org. Like Amani, I like their transparency, that no staff receive a salary from funds donated for children, that two of the directors were themselves orphans once, and they they pay their own way for travel and expenses. The bottom line is that the money is going to those who need it most, and not to sustain any bloated administration expenses. And ultimately, I just get a good feeling from them.
